The LANCE program opened in 2003.
-59 teachers have completed the program and there are 13 currently living and teaching in the community.
-24 are presently teaching in the Diocese of Memphis, two as principals.
-83 percent are still in education
What our alums have to say:
Andrew Moriarty, native of Middletown, Connecticut, sums up his feelings about the program as follows:
“I realize now that I am called to something different, something better. I look forward to taking all of the lessons
I have learned in community, and the success that LANCE and CBU has prepared me for, with me as I continue to instill the
Lasallian virtues in all of the students entrusted to my care.”
Katie Hawkins, class of '09, says of her LANCE experience:
" Our society desperately needs more excellent and experienced Catholic educators. The LANCE program is made for this purpose
and continues to mold wonderful Catholic educators each year. I am truly blessed to have been a part of this and to have the opportunity to continue teaching in a Catholic school after I graduated from CBU and LANCE in May 2009. I plan to continue to carry the values and lessons from my two years in LANCE with me forever."
